Eligibility

Screening is done to certify eligibility to receive food supplements. To be eligible a recipient must be a resident of Sumter County. In addition, families are eligible if they participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formally known as “Food Stamps”, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicaid, or meet the income guidelines provided annually by the State of Florida for the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). Eligibility certification is reviewed annually.

Food Distribution Frequency

Eligible recipients can receive food supplements at each of the twice monthly distributions, which are held on the first and third Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
